The Korea Trip
About the korea trip, i shall try to upload some pics, though my com seems to be a little weird about it.
Well, i shall not bore people with day-to-day accounts of what happened to me on my holiday. Think it will bore you to tears. Ok, i'm being mean here, but I read someone's blog and she gave a day 1 to day 6 account of what she did including what she ate for dinner. So, erm... its a gets a tad irritating and boring la.
All right, i learned something on each holiday. Ha, that's what mommy thinks, each trip abroad should let xinyi and i learn new stuff, to broaden our horizons or this sort of stuff.
Anyway, things to be highlighted.
1. Kimchi to me sucks. Big time. And its staple food to the koreans. They must have it for every meal. But fortunately, kimchi serves as a side dish.
2. We got a Korean tourguide that speaks chinese so fluently that we mistook him to be taiwanese, well, he got that accent. But that's not the point, the point is, he is " Mr act Bae-yong-jun but can't make it". Ha, i'm not being critical, but the same hairstyle, the same pair of specs... err, too bad, the looks are miles apart.
There's another korean guy though, and he's quite shuaish.
3. We were having dinner at Jumbo seafood restaurant (the korean branch, i think) then there's this very large group of chinese kids erm, from china i mean, about 10 yrs old in the same restaurant. Then there's a piano by the side, after dinner and waiting for the rest, then a guy, he's 15, if i remember correctly, from the tour group, he went up to play tong hua on the piano. I think he wants to show off or something. and his mom was goading him on. Ok, he only knows the 1st verse and stopped. Kinda embarrasing, yeah? Then the tourguide asked who else in the grp knows, and haha, i pointed at xinyi. Lol. Ok, i saboed xinyi, but guess what, my mother, flesh and blood somemore, pointed at me and pushed me forward. Saboed by my own mom.
Errr... the only piece of non-classical piece i know is " the moon represent my heart". Its super embarrasing when you know that fact and forced to play smt supposedly astonishing and awe-inspiring in front of like 60 people.
I played it, but guess what? The chinese kids love this song, at least i think so, cos suddenly, all of them, about 40 i think and their teachers were singing, yes! singing as i played it on the piano. Ha, its kinda great, you know, the feeling of everybody appreciating what you are playing and singing to it. It was the most beautiful song i've ever heard. After i finished, there was applause and i dunno what to do next, so i just bowed la. Ha, more applause, ha, the some of the chinese kids went up tp perform as well. I sort of get how it feels to be a great performer and the applause is well, surreal.
4. I learnt how to ski. And, i'm the best skier in the whole tour group. Ha, maybe i'm boasting a little la, but hey, i learned all the basics and could kinda master them in an hour. Oh, then took the cable car up to the mountain (the beginner one la) and i skied down thrice without falling or anything. Quite pro right.
5. Do you know there exists an animal which is a hybrid of a lion and a tiger. I saw that creature, well, i dunno how to name it, but its got a lion for a dad and a tiger for a mom. Weird eh?
6. You know that painted mural in "stairway to heaven", that korean drama. Well, the real one is not of the same size as the one in tv and in my opinion, not as beautiful. Then we took the caurosel and take turns pretending to be jingshu and chengjun. Lol, so funny la. Ha, then bought the necklace that chengjun gave to jingshu and continue to act some more. Hahaha, funny la.
7. Am too tired to continue.
Au revior!
