Halloween totally ROCKS!
Yeah, its totally awesome, man, i've not had such fun for such a long time.
Haha, we went trick-or-treat at the houses beside the American school. Basically, its a large community with all sorts of bungalows and houses, all of a different design and they were rented to the american families studying there.
Lols, they really decorated their houses, with cobwebs hanging all over the gates and skeletons hanging on the basketball stands and inflatable jack-o-lanterns and casper sort of ghosts. Then, they have people dressed up in really fantastically humurous and well, not exactly scary, but gorgeous costumes, handing out sweets to everyone. The houses are basically open up to everyone and throngs of people just walk inside to get candies, shouting ' trick-or-treat' or 'Happy Halloween'.
They are all dressed up in all sorts of costumes, ha, you get samurais, loads of witches (complete with large sillicone boobs), catwoman, superman, spiderman( the angmoh guy has the figure to go in that too), red devils( in Man U jerseys(roll eyes) with horns and tridents), princesses,gladiators, vampires( complete with make up, blood, fangs and nails), jedis, yup, pirates( copy me one), gorillas, cross dressing and yeah, just the plain ghouls and freaks. There were some that are quite rojak too. Haha, yeah, that's their costume, a rojak. Ha, ok, lame joke!
Ha, i went as a pirate, and i collected lots and lots of candies and chocolate. Haha, can u believe it, one of the houses gave packets of instant noodles as well... Lols. I tink i collected the most, then we all traded among ourselves. Ha, did i mention that a young caucasion boy tried to bully me into giving him my candy.
Well, there were actually 3 of them, and they came up to us, saying that they only managed to collect 2 candies and asked me to give them mine. Of course, naturally protective of the candies i had spent the night collecting, and not believing that rottenly lame story, i told them to buzz off and its just too bad that they only got 2 candies. Then this dastardly kid, grabbed my sword and tried to snatch the candies in my basket. Ha, i shoved him off and said " F*** off punk", then he backed off, i tink a little taken aback. I don't normally scream expletives at people, unless they really pissed me off, which happens in this case. Ha, afterall, i'm the eldest there and i got to protect the others from being bullied.
All this brought back memories...
I missed the days when i lived there. I missed my basketball stand and that swing. I missed cycling along the tree-lined pavements everyday after school. I missed the street soccer and basketball matches we had with the other kids in the neighbourhood. I missed jumping on the hopscotch we drew ourselves with chalk on the road in front of the house. I missed the pot-luck parties held at the lawns by the neighbours during festivals. I missed those beer and barbeque and mahjong cum blackjack sessions during chinese new year and christmas. I missed the white retriever by the name of Elli which lived opposite, whom i think had a secret crush on chowchow.
That was my childhood. And i missed it.
I missed those carefree and innocent days when i could just come home and play.(haha, that probably explains why i only got 250 for PSLE and am always the last few in sec1 and 2)
All these are now replaced with maths tutorials, essays and pw, and more tutorials and essays and even more pw.
I missed my childhood.
A fragment of that memorable period of my life is the trick-or-treat parties.
